                                                                                                                 Competition 2011

Once again the RSMA is running the Young Artists Competition sponsored by the Worshipful Order of Shipwrights.  The competition is open to artists aged between 16 and 25 and gives the opportunity to have work shown alongside the professionals in London's Mall Galleries.

Michael Sole's winning entry last year 'Mer et Ciel 31'  Oil & Acrylic 1m x 1m

Interested?   Work submitted can be in all normal media or sculpture subject to the conditions detailed on the submission forms and must relate to the sea or the marine environment in some way. The forms can be downloaded from the Mall Galleries website at www.mallgalleries.org.uk   There are no entry fees for eligible artists but submission forms must be clearly marked 'Young Artists Competition'.   If you have any queries contact us through youngartists@rsma-web.co.uk

SUBMISSION ALTERNATIVES

HANDING IN - Dates for normal submission of work are Friday August 12th and Saturday the 13th August, 2011 and the location is at 17 Carlton House Terrace, London - full details are on the submission form.

JPEG SUBMISSION - because we realise that getting work to London can be problematic we have again arranged for an initial submission via email for Young Artists, where the images will be put through a selection process and if selected for the final judging the artists involved will be contacted to arrange for their work to be available for the final judging.  All images submitted in this way must be emailed to youngartists@rsma-web.co.uk  by August 1st 2011.  It is essential that these images are of good quality or they may be rejected because the judges can't make a considered judgement.

The prize is sponsored by the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights and again in 2011 the winner receives £500 with a further £200 for the runner up
